I was worried at first about returning to this site, thinking I would have a big backlog of mail, but I actually didn't receive as much as I thought I would, which is good! Sort of. Anyway, let's get to reading!

Exactly!! Like they must have thought we were dumb, because the thinly-veiled product-placement was OBVIOUS and it was so off-putting. I think that's part of the reason why I gravitated towards TCoCC, because (at least to my knowledge) it didn't have a toy line or anything, so it didn't try to advertise stuff to me as I was just trying to relax and watch TV.

Hello. I looked through your wiki, and I think the show you watched is The Pirates of Dark Water. It's not exactly the same as what you described, but it came out in the '80s and is very similar. Memories aren't always 100 percent accurate.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it really isn't similar to TCoCC at all besides having pirates in it. The characters and setting are way different from what I described. Also, it came out in the 90s, not the 80s, according to the page you linked.

Hey, I know you said The Chronicles of Candle Cove's art style was similar to He-Man, but have you considered that it might have been an anime? I'm bringing this up because a lot of anime dubs are really hard to find, especially if the original anime itself isn't that well-known. Also, if anime don't get popular enough in the US, then sometimes their dubs aren't released as home media, making them even harder to find. And maybe the original series isn't even called "The Chronicles of Candle Cove," and that's just what the dubbers decided to call it when translating it to English? Look up how Science Ninja Team Gatchaman became "The Gutman," for example.

Mailer, you set off something in my brain. I've been re-watching 80s cartoons a lot recently, and a lot of them were sort of... bad. Like the animation is stiff and the characters aren't expressive and you can tell where they reused stock animation cels. Maybe it was just my childhood innocence making everything seem less crappy than it actually was, but I really can't visualize TCoCC having THAT bad animation. I'm not much of an otaku, but I have watched some animes here and there, and I notice that the animation quality is way better, and closer to what I remember TCoCC being.

I went and searched "Kyandorukōbu no Nendai-ki" (I think that's what it would be called in Japanese? I'm just using Google Translate), but didn't find anything. I think you may be right about the English title not matching the Japanese title, in that case. I'll definitely be looking into this more!

And that's all for mail! Now for updates: I know there's only one page on the wiki so far, and the reason for that is, I'm not sure if I remember enough to make more pages. Like there ARE things I remember about TCoCC, obviously, but, they're mostly just random details, and nothing substantial enough to create whole wiki pages for. Like I COULD, but I don't really see the point in making entire wiki pages if they're only gonna have, like, 2 sentences each, you know? That would be real lame. I was sort of betting on at least one or two other people who remember TCoCC to chime in so that I'd have SOME other information to go off of, but that hasn't happened. Yet. Maybe I just need to be more patient.... Or maybe I'll just start writing some wiki pages, give it a whirl, and see where that goes. Maybe if I started writing, it'd help me remember. (I have such a hard time remembering. Like the harder I try, the harder it is.)

Anywho, I'll be back in the next entry! Hopefully the time between this and the next one isn't as long.
